“I will never forget the feeling I had when I was researching turn of the century Cleveland author and poet Sarah Knowles Bolton at the Cleveland Public Library.  In their archives they had a box of her original writings, copies of journal entries and several books that are no longer in circulation.  Consequently, when I portray Sarah, I know I am giving the audience her authentic 'words' that were lost for so long.

I also experience ongoing 'memorable' moments, with each performance. Inevitably there is someone in the audience, oftentimes a child, who all of sudden looks at me with big bright eyes and somehow I know that I have connected with that person. I realize that probably for the first time history is coming alive for them and they finally have an understanding that women have also contributed to the history of our great nation.”
