Dear Miss Rehburg:
I would like to bring to your attention a new concert series sponsored by a group of West Side musicians whose interest it is to give to this community an opportunity to hear good music; to give talented young Cleveland musicians an opportunity to perform and to have their music played; and to promote the establishment of an Art and Music Center on the West Side which will help to further the cultural and artistic growth of suburban Cleveland.
The programs scheduled for the 1951 season are the following:
January
12, Frederick Koch, pianist.
January 26, Howard Roberts,
tenor.
February 23, Joyce Rowbotham, soprano
and Bruce Rose, tenor.
March 23, Reta
Biehle Alder, pianist.
April 20,
New Music by Cleveland composers.
May 25,
Kathryn Nussbaum.
These programs are to be held monthly on Friday evenings beginning Friday, January 12, 1951, at 8:30 pm at the Lakewood Community Center, 1417 St. Charles and Detroit Ave.
Only through your interest and financial assistance in this concert series by Cleveland musicians made possible. You can become a patron by using the enclosed card to make a donation. All patron names will appear on our programs.
A pamphlet more fully explaining the concerts with a note about each artist and information regarding ticket subscriptions will follow.
We feel that these concerts may initiate the West Side into becoming an artistic center, therefore your support as a patron in this undertaking will be greatly appreciated.
Very truly yours,
Frederick Koch
