BERYL RUBINSTEIN pianist, has been head of the piano department and director of the Cleveland Institute of Music since 1932. he has toured extensively in the United  States and in England, and has appeared as soloist with the New York Philharmonic, the Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and London Symphony Orchestras. He has made a number of appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra, the most recent of which was March 17, 1951, when he played the Stravinsky Capriccio for piano and orchestra, and the Beethoven concerto for piano, violin, and violoncello.
 
 Mr. Rubinstein is the composer of a long list of works include an opera, symphonic and chamber scores, piano pieces, and songs. His opera is three acts, The Sleeping Beauty (libretto by John Erskine) was first produced in Severance Hall on January 27, 1938.

 Mr. Rubinstein gives an annual recital at the Cleveland Institute of Music and is heard frequently in chamber groups and on contemporary music programs.
