
HOWARD
ROBERTSA tenor of Cleveland, was former nationally-known jazz trumpet artist with Lionel Hampton and Lucky Millinder and has turned to vocal art for serious music study. He studied voice with Mordecai Bauman at the Cleveland Institute of Music and received his Bachelor of Music degree there in June 1950. He sang the role of Azael in the Karamu Lyric Theater production of Debussy's "L'Enfant Prodigue" and also appeared there in "The Wise Maiden." This promising young tenor is touring the Eastern seaboard this season with the "One World Ensemble" and is working toward his Masters degree in voice with Marie Simmelink Kraft at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
