Summer Reading List 2008

Saint Joseph Academy is approaching summer reading a little differently this year. Students will be required to read only one book. The book has been selected by a committee of students and teachers. During the 2008-2009 school year, teachers will incorporate some activity, project, discussion, or other assessment, based on the one book, in each class. Consequently, each student will encounter the book seven or eight times throughout the school year. The book that has been selected for the one book project is My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. We offer the following suggestions to help students prepare for the class activities. Students may think of other ways to prepare as they read the book. In addition to the required summer reading book, we are including a list of 25 suggested books for summer reading. These Savory Summer Selections will be used for informal discussions throughout the 2008-2009 school year.
