Catholic Academy - 2007 Summer Reading List - Grade1 |
||
Dear Parents of Incoming First Graders,
As you know, reading plays a crucial role in your child’s success in school. To give your child a jumpstart in first grade, we are encouraging you to expose your child to reading as much as possible this summer. Here is a list of suggested books and book series. We all suggest joining a book club at your public library or at a bookstore (i.e. Barnes & Noble). As an additional activity, your child may enjoy drawing a picture of a favorite book shared over the summer. Your child may bring this in to share the first week of school.
We hope you and your future first grader have a wonderful summer. We are looking forward to a great first grade year!
Sincerely,
Beth Conaway, Sue Corrigan, Jennifer Komar
