Parent-volunteers are the backbone of the PTA. We need your help whether you can give an hour or a day; have a special talent or just want to have fun and meet some great people. You can make the difference.

Take a look at the opportunities listed below. If each person gives a little bit, the difference will be huge!

McKinley Parent Volunteer Opportunities 2007-08

• From Home:  Teachers need parents to help from home with classroom art projects, making flash cards, binding books, etc. 
  Parents who are unavailable during school hours can make a difference in their child’s classroom

  Special Events:  The PTA sponsors many events for which we need volunteers.  Pick one or two and see how rewarding and fun the PTA experience can be. 
  A PTA chairperson will contact you with all the details.

  Room Parents Needed!
  Room Parents are needed to organize 3 classroom parties throughout the year.

  • Halloween - Friday, October 26, 2007 2:30pm
  • Winter Holiday – Friday, December 14, 2007 2:30pm
  • Valentine’s Day – Thursday, February 14, 2008 2:30pm

  Head Room Parent - Coordinates with the classroom teacher to organize all 3 parties; contacts room parents to organize donation of all items needed for the parties; schedules room parents to help at each party.

  Room Parent – Works with the Head Room Parent by attending a party to help with set up, etc.; donates refreshments or supplies for the parties; steps in to organize a party if the Head Room Parent is unable to do so.

  Please fill out the form below and return it to school with your child by September 22, 2007.  You can use one form to indicate your preference for all of your children’s classrooms.  You will be contacted by the PTA or the Head Room Parent in your child’s class before the Halloween Party.
