A Johnson and Johnson company. BabyCenter, for new and expectant parents, together with its companion site ParentCenter.com, for parents of children ages 2 to 8, presents "original high-quality content and practical advice from trusted sources such as obstetricians, pediatricians, developmental experts, nutritionists, and fellow parents."
iParenting
A "network of more than 40 Web sites devoted to the entire family lifecycle — from preconception through the teenage years." Includes a Spanish language version.

A searchable, annotated directory of links for children and their families, selected by librarians in the Association for Library Service to Children. Includes Sites for Parents, Caregivers, Teachers & Others. As you would expect, there are links to resources about books and reading.
FamilyEducation Network
The stated mission: "help parents help their kids learn." Basically for K-12, but includes content for the babies, toddlers and preschool child. Searchable.
Children's Software Revue
Online version of the print publication. This highly regarded service offers objective reviews, as well as a directory of the most prominent children's software companies and links to other online review sources. Educators and test families are consulted for reviews. Includes electronic toys and Internet sites. Searchable.
Parents' Choice Foundation
Use this site to make informed decisions about the right products for your child. Evaluates children's books, videos, toys, audios, computer software, television, and magazines. Gives awards for the best products.
eToys
Keep up with the latest with this leading Internet retailer of children's products. Special categorizations by age, by bestsellers, by brand. Recommendations for special needs children, listings of award-winners, special features, e.g., high-tech for girls.
Kids-in-Mind
This is the parents' guide to "potentially objectionable material contained in movies."  Movies are rated in categories - sex/nudity, violence/gore, profanity. "Adult issues" and "message" are also described. Each category rating is explained, "3 F-words, many scatological references, many mild obscenities...."
Screen It
This service offers 15 categories with a number scale to aid the parent in evaluating movies. Besides the usual sex and violence themes, Screen It looks at such items as cigarettes, jump scenes, imitative behavior, tense family scenes, music. Includes a fairly lengthy description and attempts to predict how high on the "must see" list a particular movie will be.
The Anime Café: A Parent's Guide to Anime
Provides a simple rating system and clear-cut reviews by various contributors. Anime and manga are the Japanese animation and comic book styles popularized by television shows, movies, and to a large extent, original video releases, including Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Dragonball Z.
SafeKids.Com
Developed by Larry Magid, syndicated technology columnist and child online safety expert. Encourages parent-child communication, rather than sole reliance on filtering software. Aims to teach young people critical thinking skills to help them make intelligent online choices. Includes information based on the booklet Child Safety on the Information Highway. Reviews child safe search engines and comparisons of filtering software products, plus links to other sites.
National Parent Information Network
Sponsored by the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC). Full-text articles of  ERIC's research-based materials on parenting and family involvement in the education process. Take a look at the site map to get an idea of the site's scope. This is a good starting point for becoming familiar with ERIC resources.
AskA+ Locator
This directory of online question answering services seeks to link information seekers with experts on the Internet. Each service listing includes identification and contact information and a description of the service. Searchable and browsable.
