- Online version of the print publication. This highly
regarded service offers objective reviews, as well as a directory of

online review sources. Educators and test families are consulted for
reviews. Includes electronic toys and Internet sites. Searchable.

Choice Foundation
- Use this site to make informed decisions about the
right products for your child. Evaluates children's books, videos,
toys, audios, computer software, television, and magazines. Gives awards
for the best products.
- eToys
- Keep up with the latest with this leading Internet
retailer of children's products. Special categorizations by age, by
bestsellers, by brand. Recommendations for special needs children,
listings of award-winners, special features, e.g., high-tech for girls.
- Kids-in-Mind
- This is the parents' guide to "potentially objectionable
material contained in movies." Movies are rated in categories
- sex/nudity, violence/gore, profanity. "Adult issues" and "message" are
also described. Each category rating is explained, "3 F-words, many
scatological references, many mild obscenities...."
- Screen It
- This service offers 15 categories with a number
scale to aid the parent in evaluating movies. Besides the usual sex
and violence themes, Screen It looks at such items as cigarettes, jump
scenes, imitative behavior, tense family scenes, music. Includes a
fairly lengthy description and attempts to predict how high on the "must
see" list a particular movie will be.

Café: A Parent's Guide to Anime
- Provides a simple rating system and clear-cut reviews
by various contributors. Anime and manga are the Japanese animation
and comic book styles popularized by television shows, movies, and
to a large extent, original video releases, including Sailor Moon,

choices. Includes information based on the booklet Child Safety
on the Information Highway. Reviews child safe search engines and
