Women in History Charlene Connors as Georgia O'Keeffe Charlene
Connors portrays Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Sarah Knowles Bolton, Cassie
Chadwick, Amelia Earhart, Adella Prentiss Hughes, Mary Todd Lincoln, Belle
Sherwin, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Victoria Woodhull. Her favorite character
is Cassie Chadwick because she is the most “infamous” woman that she performs.
“Not only is the costume I wear for Cassie is wonderful, but I can be absolutely
outrageous when I portray her!” Since joining Women In History in 1995,
Ms. Connors has become an Executive Board member and coordinates all of
the performance dates.
WIH is important to Ms. Connors because she loves history and WIH allows her to express her love of history, especially women’s history, in a very unique and special way. She enjoys constantly reading about and researching the life stories of the various women she portrays. “I feel privileged to be able to provide the voice of the brave and courageous women in American History whose voices, sadly enough, have been forgotten.” Ms. Connors attended Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from South
High School. She has a degree in Special Education from Cleveland State
University. Ms. Connors still loves working with children and is a volunteer
tutor for The Experience Corps program in the Cleveland Public Schools.
She also enjoys traveling, especially to visit her four precious grandchildren.
