October 2009
Welcome to new Harding parents, and welcome back to those who have been with us before.
The Harding PTSA's main job is to enrich your children's learning and the school environment. We do this by sponsoring the book fair during conferences; funding teacher projects or programs; raising money for school projects; organizing student activities such as dances; and treating our hard-working teachers.
Here's how you can take part in what we do:
- Join us! It's $5 per person; if your student joins, he or she gets into each dance for free. There is a form in this packet, and the school office has membership forms. You can also join at any PTSA meeting.
- Consider contributing to the PTSA's only fund-raiser, the Painless Project. You don't have to sell anything, and it doesn't require hours of your time; just make a simple donation of any amount you want. Drop off donations at the school office or at any PTSA meeting.
- Volunteer at our dances - Oct. 30, Jan. 29, March 26 and the eighth-grade dance June 4. We also need help at the PTSA book fair during November teacher conferences, Market Day distribution, writing grants and staff appreciation projects throughout the year.
- Attend our meetings on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the LRC.
You can get all our info on the schools' Web site: www.lakewoodcityschools.org.
