Presidents' Message

Welcome everyone to a new exciting year at Emerson Elementary School!  The beginning of the year has gone smoothly thanks to the untiring efforts of Principal Seibel and the entire Emerson staff, and we are all looking forward to another wonderful year.  
 
Thanks to Mary Beth Kohl and Inas Jassani for organizing our first ever Back to School Kickball game.  We hope you all had as fantastic a time as we did, and enjoyed eating popsicles with us.  It was a great way to begin the year.
 
Speaking of starting the year off right, Joanne Schwark did a wonderful job organizing this year’s First Day Café.  A big thanks to her for her dedication and hard work.  It was great to see so many returning parents, and to welcome all of our new families. 
  
Thanks also to our Membership chair Debbi Polen for getting this year’s membership drive going.  She has organized a drawing for a $25.00 Giant Eagle gift card when at least two members of a household join.  Remember that your membership dues go to support many of the events, field trips, and programs that make Emerson a great place for your child to learn.
 
Finally, many thanks go to Dave Stadler for again stepping up to organize Muffins with Mom.  Please join us before school on Thursday, September 10 as some outstanding Dads serve the deserving Moms of the Emerson community a scrumptious breakfast.  Watch your child’s backpack for more information!
 
Also please come join us for our first meeting of the year immediately following Muffins with Mom.  This is a great way to meet other parents, and to find out what’s in store for the students and families of our school.
