Music for the evening will feature excerpt from "Messiah," by George F. Handel. Both choral and solo selections will be performed by the students in the choir. The Chamber Choir, a group of 20 students selected from the Symphonic Mixed Choir and Vive L'Four boys' quartet, will also perform. Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for senior citizens, and $1 for students.

HISTORY
For
more than 50 years, the Civic Auditorium has been Lakewood's crown
jewel. Virtually every Lakewood native has a special memory of
a concert, play or other civic event in our hometown theater.
Since its opening in April 1955, the "Pride of Lakewood" has witnessed
every Lakewood High School Commencement, the Great Lakes Shakespeare
Festival, and the musical performances of our sons and daughters.
The
inaugural production, "Seeds of Progress," was a part of Lakewood
Pride of Progress Month, reflecting the community commitment
to civic and cultural progress. The ceramic art facade is by
renowned artist/designer Viktor Schreckengost. "Early Settler," has
evolved into a composite of Johnny Appleseed and Lakewood
Naturalist Dr. Jared Kirtland, whose agricultural and scientific
contributions inspired future Lakewoodites to further nurture
their community and children through music and the arts. |

each year the Civic hosts almost two hundred events with
an average attendance of 1500 guests?

the Civic is the fifth largest theater in Northeast Ohio?

it was opened in 1955 by George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra?

the Early Settler, when built, was the largest free-standing
ceramic cast in modern times, and was judged first place
in the 18th National Syracuse Ceramic Competition?

the Civic Auditorium hosts numerous regional orchestra and
band competitions, as well as commencement from six different

to his first television role?
